Our Association exists to sustain the family in implementing its role and functions. It fights for the children so that they can develop in a proper familiar environment.

For the next period “ Support the children” Association proposes the following objectives: 1.Improving the existing social services networks and development of new ones. 2. Accreditation as a private supplier of social services 3. Increasing the number of the beneficiaries in the target areas: Abrud, Sebeş, Alba Iulia, Cugir, Zlatna, Pianu, Orăştie, Simeria, Geoagiu, Călan, Hunedoara, Frumosu, Cluj Napoca. 4. Partnership consolidation and extend of the public-private partnership 5. Sustaining the development of the students for a future career in the public and private sector 6. Accustom the social actors with accessing the structural founds. 7. Setting up of 3 holliday Centers. 8. Obtaining the authorization as trainer for adults in jobs such as social worker and socio-educative animation 9. Sustaining the local communities, especially the rural ones, in order to identify their needs, their resources and elaborationg long-term development strategies 10. Organizational development of the NGO’s from the Association"s Network 11 Extension of the Volunteers Network and perfecting those who are trained.

1. We consider that our most special characteristic is given by the informal education and social integration activity. Monthly, in 12 localities, we organize social events in which we treat all the people born in the same month, at the same level.

Our asociation works on a program system and within this framework we develop many projects as: 1. The developement of social services 2. The professional development of adults 3. Education for leisure time 4. Organizational development for non-profit sector 5. Informal education Here is a short presentation of a few projects considered successful by specialists, financiers and the community. 2005-2006 „ The Informed Children’s Club” is a regional campaign having as purpose the information and promotion of Children and Adolescent Rights as a result of UNO Convention regarding The Child Rights and the „Charta regarding the adolescents participation at the local and regional life”. Conceived as a caravan which regulary visited the target schools aiming to inform the students about their rights as well as about their responsabilities, the project worked in partnership with the School Inspectorates from Alba and Hunedoara counties and the target schools had the associate statute.The project beneficiaries were 32.275 children and 6.000 adolescents from Bucharest and Alba, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Cluj counties. The 87 School Institutions involved formed a educational regional network for human’s rights and democracy. 2006-2007 „The Unemployed Active Measures’Caravan Alba and Hunedoara” project The project had as a target group the long period unemployed, of different ages. A number of 1.100 unemployed from Alba Iulia, Cugir, Pianu, Zlatna, Orastie, Geoagiu, Hunedoara and Calan benefitted by our services as follows: 250 of them were qualified on trades wanted on the work market and 750 benefitted of infomation, counsel and mediation services. 2005-2006 „Social School Assistance Network” project supplied services in 4 schools and 4 kindergartens from Cugir, having a number of 2.280 beneficiaries. The main activities supplied were: the prevention of illnesses and school abandonment, emprovement of the general heath situation in schools, school adaptation and social integration etc. 2004 – 2005 “The House From the Mountain” Temporary Shelter – from Strungari village, situated at 1000 meters high, at the base of Sebeş Mountains. This project provides daily accomodation for the children from the Purcareti and Plaiuri villages. Before the implementation of this project, the children from these villages had to walk over 7 km through the forest, to get to school every day. During holiday the Shelter becomes a socialization and recuperation camp for children from all over the country. Every year, in May 31st – June 6th, the Association “Support the children” developed a complex event named “The children `s week” in order to promote the United Nations Convention about Child Rights. The issues are: defending child rights to play, to rest, recreation and cultural and artistic activities fixed on their age. The project involves about 3.227.500 children and 6.000 young people from Bucharest, Alba, Hunedoara, Sibiu and Cluj counties. For 2007 our association has in view the establishment of a Play and Watch House for children between 2 and 3 years old for who there are no such services provided by the public institutions. Most of the public nurseries had been cancelled and so, the parents could not benefit of public services for their children within the age of 3 years old. Regarding this reason many parents after the 2 years maternity leave can’t start their work which leads to the deduction of the income especially among the young families.

The association is working in the present with waiting lists in the most of the localities where we supplied social services. We need the money because we want to extend our services , to diversify them and to improve the spaces from Strungari, Cugir and Geoagiu where we organize holidays centers for disfavoured children or victims of neglect, abuse or child explotation. In the same time, because of our accreditation acording with OU 86/2002 as private supplier of social services it’s necessary to endow the following spaces ( furniture for refectory, technique equipaments for training center, dishes, etc) We want to extend the target groups to promote child rights, civic responsability and education, organizing of training camp for volunteers activities. At the same time, the money will be used to implement the programm Internship , initiated by the Sudent League of the University „ December 1, 1918” Alba Iulia. In this way the association will help the students to prepare thier careers, to prepare themselfs for the future and to trained with professionals in the private and public sectors.

Our Association has two types of beneficiaries: of services and of activities. Services: we have 9 private institutions for social services for the members of families in crises: poverty, disease, disabilities, domestic violence Activities: we have partnerships and a network of institutions in 21 localities for over 40.000 beneficiaries. Activities include: informing, socialization, informal education and civic responsibilization.
